Admin Team

This is the decision-making body of the Haiku Project. The team is composed of developers and other individuals that over time have made significant contributions to the project.

Discussions

The admin team regularly meets in a private chat room and discusses development and non-development issues that came up since the last meeting. If possible, a meeting agenda is posted before the meeting starts. Also, this group has a private mailing list where various issues (e.g., guidelines for distribution makers) can be discussed before a decision gets officially announced. We publish summaries of our meetings in the blogs section on this website.

Becoming a Member

There are no set-in-stone rules for joining the admin team. Sometimes, people get invited by the admin team because they made significant contributions, but long-time contributors can also ask to become a member. In any case, the admin team votes on whether the person should be invited to the team.

Responsibilities of Members

A member should take part in the decision making process. This includes participating in votes, but also contributing to discussions happening on the admin mailing list. Always being present at our regular admin meetings is not mandatory, but you should at least attend at very important meetings.
