Ticket #9584 (installoptionalpackage beoscompatibility gives error) closed
Yes. The warning is there to tell app devs that those links won't be available forever, since they're mainly there for badly written apps which hardcoded paths instead of using find_directory().
Ticket #9584 (installoptionalpackage beoscompatibility gives error) created

Patch has been added.
Ticket #9582 (x86_64 nightly missing Radeon driver, Shortcuts preflet) closed
Indeed, forgot about that one.
Ticket #9582 (x86_64 nightly missing Radeon driver, Shortcuts preflet) closed
Ticket #9582 (x86_64 nightly missing Radeon driver, Shortcuts preflet) created
I have two Haiku partitions, so how I normally install a nightly is to boot into my non-nightly partition, format the nightly partition, mount a raw nightly image, and run Installer from the mounted image. However, when I tried downloading x86_64 of hrev45413, it said it couldn't open Installer with application Installer. So, I just used Tracker to drag all the files from the mounted image onto my now-empty nightly partition, then ran makebootable on it just in case. It boots up fine on my Sempron 3100+ (yay!) but there seem to be standard things missing, two mentioned in the title. Because there's no driver the display gets set to 1024x768 and when I try to up it to 1280, the screen goes blank until it times out and resets to 1024.
Anyway, do these things not build yet under 64? Here's a list of what's included

Ticket #9581 (Add Liberation Fonts to Haiku (and aliases)) created
Haiku right now has very few fonts. Especially when it comes to web browsing, a lot of sites want Arial, Times, and Courier New. These fonts are proprietary, but Red Hat created the Liberation fonts (https://fedorahosted.org/liberation-fonts/) which are metrically compatible with them.
However, it's not just that the fonts have to be installed. When a program requests "Times New Roman" and Times ISN'T installed (someone may install the real "Times New Roman" of their own accord) Haiku should set the font to be "Liberation Serif". The same should happen with "Arial" and "Courier New".
The font aliases shouldn't just be for Web+. GoBe Productive may open a document and request one of these fonts because the document has it.
Ticket #9580 ([PATCH] Fix signature duplication of printer drivers) created

Ticket #9579 (Implement a simple way to set default apps/handlers) created
Currently we can set preferred apps using File Types panel, and works good. But the usage could be obscure (especially for a newbie). As example i suggest to implement a way to set the default browser.
In my case, inside File Types, i have set Qupzilla as default browser, and to do this i have set Qupzilla to handle html files, http url, https url, fpt url and any mime type related to web. I was able to do this because i know very well Haiku, but is not a quick way, because every mime type that i have set, may be not easy to find in the list (eg html file is under "text" category and web urls are categorized under applications, and a new "web" category would be also fine :-).
The same, obviously, could be done for MediaPlayers: i have set another mediaplayer in a quick way setting this on the root category of audio and video, but a new window "Set preferred applications" would be a more clear and elegant way :-)
Ticket #9561 (KDL when mounting exports located in directory deeper than 1 level) closed
Thank you for your patch. However, I have already decided to not to keep path names in a flatten form at all thus the whole function causing this bug has been removed.
Fixed in hrev45411.
PS For future reference names like pathEnd are preferred over path_end.
Ticket #9558 (KDL when trying to run git clone on a nfs4 mount) closed
Fixed in hrev45411.
Ticket #9578 (Haiku crashes when writing this specific file to memory stick) created
I'm using Haiku in VirtualBox. I have been transferring files on and off via a flash stick that I give access to Haiku and then unmount and transfer the files off. However, this one specific ZIP crashes Haiku when I try and copy it.
See attached file and screenshot of crash.
Ticket #9577 (Z-index of menu is wrong) created
See the attached screenshot. The program is "Be Interface Creator", available at http://haikuware.com/directory/view-details/development/gui-creation/beinterfacecreator.
