Ticket #12018 (StyledEdit can't edit existing files) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 07:40

StyledEdit under 49058 (GCC2 hybrid x86) cannot edit existing text files. Creating a new text file works fine but when I open an existing one the cursor disappears and the only operation that works in the text editing area of the window is highlighting (and copying to the buffer) text. You can't even delete selections.

Ticket #12017 (kernel / chipset issues with Intel 8 series C220) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 07:22

When using 49058 (GCC2 hybrid x86) on my System76 Gazelle Pro which uses an Intel 8 series / C220 chipset, I have to uncomment the lines:

apm true
disable_ioapic true

in /boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/kernel to get Haiku to boot reliably or manually disable those kernel settings in the bootloader.

I will attach a syslog and listdev from my system.

On a related note, for some reason I don't get email notification when people reply to my tickets on here. Should I? I've checked my account email address is correct but I can't see any option to toggle notifications.

Ticket #12016 (kernel config missing Disable local APIC option) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 07:08

I've noticed that the bootmanager gives you the option to disable local APIC but the kernel config file is missing a matching option. The kernel config file only has an option to disable ioapic but not local apic.

Ticket #12015 (Implement RNDIS for USB tethering) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 06:57

I believe RNDIS is the protocol used by Android to do USB connection tethering. FreeBSD has this so can it not just be 'borrowed'? I use it frequently (under Linux) when I'm using my laptop away from home and its also very useful for those who have unsupported network devices but they have a data connection on their phone.

Ticket #12014 (WebPositive displays redirect information when page is being redirected) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 06:43

When I reach a webpage that is being redirected, WebPositive displays a message at top of screen indicating a redirection which sometimes is still visible even when the redirection has completed.

This seems to me to be redundant (possibly debugging) information that shouldn't be visible to the end user.

Ticket #12011 (GUI changes of DataTranslations) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sun, 2015-04-26 04:12

This is hrev49089.

Currently the different translators are all jumbled together. I supposed sorting them under "image", "text" etc. would be a nice idea. Maybe in the future the "DataTranslations" preferences can be become a "Media Formats" preferences and include settings for audio and video formats as well.

Here's a mockup, that also changes the design of the right side of the window, moving the icon up and removing the "Info" button:

Ticket #12010 (Haiku installer won't recognize hard drives) created

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Sat, 2015-04-25 19:09

When trying to install Haiku, it won't recognize my hard drives with AHCI mode enabled, and the installer kicks me out to KDL (and a nonfunctioning USB keyboard) with native IDE mode enabled. Once installed (to a flash drive), however, it recognizes the hard drives just fine in native IDE mode.

I cannot access the Internet at all with my Nforce mobo's built-in ethernet. It's just loading the page forever, and Network shows me sending little bits of data and receiving half nothing.
