Ticket #11923 (Select first interface on start-up of panel) closed

Latest Bugs & Tasks - Tue, 2015-03-31 16:04
fixed:

Implemented in hrev48967.

However, while I agree with you that it would be nice to not have the window size jump around, it's not that easy to do, as the views are created only on demand, and may also change their size requirements during runtime.

In any case, I've lessened the issue by making the address view resizable, so that the window will now stay the same size until you hit the DNS service (using the English locale, and the default font/size).

Network: preselect first item, make device view resizable.

* After start, the first item will now be selected. * The InterfaceAddressView will no longer restrict its width, so that the window doesn't have to be resized anymore when switching to it. * This implements ticket #11923. * After start, the first item will now be selected. * The InterfaceAddressView will no longer restrict its width, so that the window doesn't have to be resized anymore when switching to it. * This implements ticket #11923.

These were here for debugging purposes, as often it is a sign of inconsistencies. However, for USB disks this is a normal occurence when someone janks out of the device without unmounting first. Make sure we log these cases though, as it still helps debugging. Fix sponsered by http://www.izcorp.com These were here for debugging purposes, as often it is a sign of inconsistencies. [haiku-development] Re: Checking when media services are up [proposal] (Dario Casalinuovo)

Hi Axel, Generally, yes, such a method sounds like a good idea. I would just name it differently - how about BMediaRoster::IsRunning()? There is no reason to expose/elaborate on the fact that there are actually two servers involved -- that's just an implementation detail that is not relevant information; ie. if put outside of BMediaRoster, I'd call it is_media_server_running() -- that would also better fit to launch_media_server() (but I'd prefer the BMediaRoster() variant). ...
