i've tried Haiku R1/alpha3 on my Acer Aspire 4315:
i cannot reboot my laptop. it hangs each i click reboot on the menu. can i do dsdt overriding like on FreeBSD?
Not that I am aware. Why not try turning off ACPI in safe-mode settings and see if that helps. Once BIOS is done and Haiku is about to start booting, hold down your [shift] key to enter safe-mode and try disabling ACPI or other settings.
You should also report this bug and include your syslog http://dev.haiku-os.org
Overriding is not implemented atm. If you'd like to see it implemented please open an ticket about it.
