This isn't easliy answered. Manufacturers like to change things up all the time, and after a short time you get a variety of hardware combinations. Sometimes they add a little letter here or there in the model name, sometimes they don't bother...
So, you may want to buy from a manufacturer that is publishing the detailed specs and compare those with the HardwareInfo wiki. I bought a new notebook last year, and while not perfect, it works well enough for me. You can read about it here.
Of course, nothing beats trying out Haiku on a USB-stick directly with the hardware you've chosen. Most sales people are quite understanding in my experience, and those who aren't don't make a sale with me... :)
