hi,
Please note that Haiku must implement support for EFI.
BIOS is going out the door starting next year.

Normal BIOS calls will continue to be supported for an eternity. You can still boot DOS on most machines, and its using the system that came before what we use now.

Its important, but nowhere near critical.
