Haiku on Compaq Armada M700 - No sound

Been trying out alternative OS offerings rather then throw this old laptop away and Haiku is by far the best of the bunch, installing and booting with no problems.

Only weird thing is that I can't get any sound. Weird, because the sound built into this laptop is just a common ES1370. The media player runs and plays audio/video etc but just no sound.

any suggestions welcome as I'm just trying to use this laptop for videos and music so sound is quite important !

Try the install option package and install open sound.

Don't know why I had to do it but that is what I had to do to some nightlies to get sound working.

Of-course with the latest PM versions the directories are different so I don't know how well it works.
