Haiku Partition ID?

Forum thread started by netster403 on Mon, 2008-02-25 14:23

I formatted a BeFS partition with the newly included disk setup tool and it left the partition id as fat32. Will Haiku be using the old eb(BeOS) partition ID, or will it be something else?

Re: Haiku Partition ID?

Can't say for sure. It depends if the file system is the same to BeOS. If so, then I'd think yes. If Haiku's file system is more advanced ( updated with new features ) then they will likely change the ID.

Re: Haiku Partition ID?

I highly doubt that anything would change. Our version of BFS is binary compatible with the old one, so I don't see any reason why the ID would be different.

Re: Haiku Partition ID?

This is probably just a bug in the disk setup tool, which is pretty new and still being developed. Please report a bug on http://dev.haiku-os.org.
