Help -- Disk full -- Data trashed

Hello, While running a program that writes large files, I managed to fill the start-up disk, and the system quit working. It won't reboot. I booted from the installation CD, and everything in the home directory is gone. I can see the data using DiskProbe, but the files are gone. Terminal doesn't see them either. It is many gigabytes of data. Is there any way to recover some of the files ?

The files were still there, I was looking in another directory of the same name. I booted from a cd and copied the files to another disk, then re-installed Haiku.
