Is it possible to listen to internet radio like www.iriefm.net ?

Hi,

I installed the Alpha2 release and everything was fine. I like to listen internet radio. I do not discover any plugin like the Realplayer. Is there any chance to listen iriefm.net with Haiku system?

Haiku is based on BeOs, so you can use software which was made for BeOs.

VLC was made for BeOs, but it is a really old version.

Try that.

I use VLC to listen to Shoutcast streams. (.pls files). You should try VLC and see what happens.

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

I liked CL-Amp or SoundPlay for streaming audio with the BeOS. I wonder if they work on Haiku?
Hmmmm....looks like CL-Amp is listed:

And SoundPlay? Yep, its there as well. Be sure and read the comments section.

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

soundplay is excellent for streaming. version 4.7.2 or older works in haiku (available on beshare).

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

SoundPlay does not run under Alpha 2, but CL-Amp, VLC .86b do Download from Haikuware:

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

Why not vlc 0.8.6i? I'm using this exact version and liking it. Haikuware still has the older "c" version. Someone will have to fully test "i" version because it was compiled on Haiku but I have not seen any issues with what I tested.

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

CL-Amp works with shoutcast radio stations (and I think VLC 0.8.6d for Haiku works for shoutcast too).

Re: Is it possible to listen to internet radio like ...

soundplay 4.7.2 has worked for me under every version of Haiku i've tried, including Alpha 2 currently. it can be found on beshare.
