Localization
Thanks to this ROS forum 3ad, i just discovered the Rosetta Web-based translation system.
About Rosetta wrote:
Rosetta is a Web-based system for translating open source software into any language. All you need to start translating is a Web browser, a good knowledge of the application you are translating, and a knowledge of English.
Hope it helps!

Re: Localization
Localisation is definitely something that Haiku will deal with in the future, but from all we've heard, the locale kit wont be a part of Release 1. Focusing on translations this early could reduce the effort put into R1, which isn't something we can say we want ;).
I'm a current user of Rosetta, and do find it easy to use as a contributor of translations, so would encourage it's use rather than to roll our own.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Locale Kit

Indeed, getting R1 finished is more important, ATM. We still have a lot of time for improvements after R1.
From ReactOS Weekly
From ReactOS Weekly Newsletter - Issue 15:
ReactOS web translation service undergoing beta testing and final bug fixes, It will allow myReactOS members to translate ReactOS into diferent languages without touching RC files.
It would be great tho have something similar (or, why not, itself) for Haiku...
