Making bootable CD image

I've tried to make bootable CD image, but without success. When I use floppy.x86 as emulated floppy boot image (using k3b), resulting CD is not bootable. I've tried makehdimage utility from Haiku source, but it exits with message "couldn't mount image: general OS error".
