Media Player playing music too fast

Just downloaded Haiku (Great work!), and when I try to play MP3's with the Media Player, they're playing almost (if not) 2 times too fast. Is there a setting to get that to slow down a bit? I've installed this on an old Dell 4300s Desktop PC.

Can't believe how well it works on it!!!

try restarting the media server.

Click the leaf
select prefrences
select media

On the top left corner you'll see

audio Settings

click that and you'll be greated with a panel.

In the lower right hand corner you'll see restart media services button.

On occasion it'll biff on a install for some reason.

What audio card do you have ?

Hi Thatguy. Thank you very much for responding. I've tried your suggestion, and now I have no sound at all. Also, the media player as it's playing a song (w/o sound) still is running fast.

You need to remove the native audio drivers from

boot/system/kernel/drivers

there will be a bunch of audio drivers.

In terminal "under applications"

type

Installoptionalpackage -a opensound.

that is the alternate driver framework for haiku. It should "in thoery" fix you ac97 code issues. To me it sounds like the DAC clock is not syning correctly due to a intialization problem, then go select the new driver in the media prefrences panel, hit the restart media services button
