Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
Hi all -
I just have a couple of questions about the "build factory".
When I pop over to that page, it very often shows a date (just above the two download sites) that is 8-10 days old or so. I've just been there now, and it was showing 27th April!
It's now 7th May (in NZ anyway), so I'd be expecting the "buid factory" images to have a date of 6th May or so.
So, I was wondering -
a) Is this a bug of some kind? (Looks like it is....)
b) In the (unlikely) event that it isn't a bug, are the files that are shown (the image files) *really* created a day or so ago? In other words, the files may have been created yesterday, but the system (for some reason) is just showing a weird date...
Very many thanks in advance for your comments! Bye for now -

Re: Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
I just checked from here and saw:
6th May, 2006
So either Sikosis just fixed the problem, a build just occurred, or something strange is going on?
Update: maybe it's a bad cache issue with your browser? If using firefox, a ctrl-f5 should FULLY refresh the page.
Re: Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
Hi - thanks for this umccullough! ( Gee that was a quick reply!)
Very odd ... I tried the ctrl-F5, but it still showed 27th April, so it may well be a cache problem. ( I tried going to the site using Konqueror as well, and it too showed 27th April).
I took a screenshot of the page showing the old dates, but I'm not sure how to attach that to a post. Anyway - I'll have to think this one over - it's got me a bit puzzled .... :-)
(Update) - Problem solved! I popped over to Sikosis' site and the image there says 7th May. Downloading now - can't wait .... ;-)
Re: Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
Odd... proxy cache?
I went here: http://www.haiku-os.org/factory in case you're using a different site.
Also, it appears the 2 image files there link to sikosis.com and haikuhost.com - so, they're probably the same file you got anyway.
Re: Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
Agreed - same file. I'm pretty sure the "date thing" is something at my end, as it were. Anyway, the download's just finished so I'm off to try it out... Bye for now :-)

Old dates being shown on "build factory" page
yeh I uploaded my all the files to my new host and set the DNS delegation underway ... so, the new host had an old file. As soon as I noticed, I uploaded the new file.
I've now adjusted the Build Factory to ftp to the new host and tested it out, so the latest and greatest is now there. 8)
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Ah, so it must have simply been a DNS caching issue for latte then :D
