Screen issues (static?)
Alright, so I'm trying to use Haiku on my laptop as it seems to be the only computer that will boot it and run it well, but I'm having some graphical issues with it. The screen seems kinda... don't know if you'd describe it as static, but that's what it looks like to me. It keeps flickering where it should be displaying a solid color, and... here's a picture.

The question is... would this be something easily fixable or do I just need to wait for better hardware support?

Could be graphics driver issue. You would have to file a ticket (bug) for it to get fixed.

Try VESA mode instead. Press [space bar] while booting to get into boot options. Select enable fail-safe graphics mode + select fail-safe resolution. Do these together.
See if that works for you.
You can then set a VESA config file to always boot with VESA mode @ certain resolution.

Have you tried going into screen preferences and making sure the settings are a match to your LCD's size. Many laptops have a BIOS option to resize a higher/lower resolution to just fill the screen. Switching to your screen real resolution may be your problem.
