It's a known bug in the screenshot code in the app_server. Sorry.

If you get images like this .. you might be able to fix them with ShowImage - just get it to save the image out again.
If they're corrupted, you need to issue a "sync" to get Haiku to write the images to the disk correctly. - sadly the images you had are lost forever.
Reboot into Haiku, repeat what you did, `sync`, and if they're funny like the above screen shot, run them through ShowImage when you return to BeOS.
These are the steps I was taking in June, when the initial problem showed up ; something could've changed since </disclaimer>
