Subversion checkout STILL fails, please fix
See desmond's post in this group. The same problem is still occurring and the SVN switchover is complete.
Could one of the insiders take just a little time and fix this problem? It's an open source project right? Even though I'm not developing for Haiku until it becomes more stable, I'd still like to read the code as progress is being made. I see the code fix announcements being made all of the time and it would be educational to see how something was improved between revisions. Thanks.
It would be great of Haiku could get their SVN hooked up on a web page the way the Boo Programming Language developers have their project setup over at codehaus.org. Just check this out. It's the smoothest blend of documentation with the live SVN links I've seen so far:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/BOO/Home
Can't Haiku do something like this?

SVN checkout (anonymously) worked fine for me. You'll need the updated packages the haiku team made available.
Not sure about checking out under windows though, but you need BeOS to build it for now so that is not a major issue for the developers.
There is the web-based SVN for browsing the repository and looking at diffs and things if that is all you want to do:
http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/haiku/

Thanks for the correct link, tb100!
I was trying to download using SVN on Windows XP and was running into the same problem that desmond was back in Feb before the SVN checkin was complete.

No problem.
The berlios svn info page for haiku is here:
http://developer.berlios.de/svn/?group_id=2556
So now you are able to check the source out with XP? Which "incorrect" link were you using earlier?
When I came to check it out I followed the instructions given in a recent newsletter article by Axel (check the newsletter archives). This stuff should be put somewhere more accessible on the site though - a post in the website forum will get noticed by Kurtis and he will update the site probably.

tlb100,
Do you know where an SVN binary is available for BeOS? I'd prefer a Netserver one over BONE. I'm currently using BeOS Developer Edition 1.1 in a Virtual PC 2004 environment on my P4 laptop and the BONE-enabled browsers aren't working with it even though I can ping out with DNS resolution (strange).
Thanks for the info,
Steve

The Haiku team has produced packages for distribution of the SVN/OpenSSL components here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=33869
I haven't tried them... but that's where they're supposed to be.
Also see the accompanying Haiku newsletter that was posted for the SVN release:

Yup they're the ones I'm using. Work fine on R5 net_server.

Thanks again for the info, guys.
On Windows XP SP2 with SVN, I am unable to anonymously checkout the complete Haiku sources. Desmond5 has a post where he shows where the download fails. Tlb100, the link you gave me does the same thing. I cannot even pull down the complete binutils. It stops around 8537 files donloaded with an error.
I'll try to download the complete source under BeOS Developer Edition 1.1 with the svn binaries posted and see what happens.

Well, the haiku SVN download works fine on BeOS but gets kicked out early on the XP download. Go figure.
What I'd really like to do is get a cygwin crosss compile to BeOS and then boot into Haiku using either Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 or VMware.

Ingo was doing some work on making the sources compilable on linux (took a bit of work as to make a BFS image you need some kind of fake BFS driver). Not sure if it's finished yet - but once that's done I guess it should be possible to get it going on cygwin.
Maybe send an email to the list asking about the progess of this - it's openbeos@freelists.org, go to freelists.org to sign up for it.
Weird on the Windows XP thing, don't understand that :S

You'll typically meet problems with case in filenames. So it's not advisable to checkout our SVN on Windows.
