I believe only Win2000 derivatives are supported.

do you mean winxp is not supported? IT IS one of the derivatives.
but if win2000 is supported, that's ok too,i can use it, as i said,i don't use windows so often.i just need to know how to make it work on Qemu.

Re: winxp on Qemu in haiku, help?

It should be almost the same as with Linux.

Try this link if no one writes out how to do it in Haiku: http://www.crazysquirrel.com/computing/debian/applications/xp-under-debi...

Its a pity that Virtualbox hasn't been ported to Haiku as it is easier as faster to use.

Re: winxp on Qemu in haiku, help?

Qemu encounters major problems on Alpha 2. At some point, I'll upload the latest build of Bochs, you can use that instead.

Re: winxp on Qemu in haiku, help?

stellarpower, i cant wait to test new BOCHS , yaaay.

back to topic: You can use ReactOS in qemu , its basically smaller [than w2000 / wxp ]and should be fine for common apps like notepad / some portable apps or such..

that would indeed be a very good solution, stellarpower,so i'm gonna wait for the next Bosch release.hopefully soon.

Re: winxp on Qemu in haiku, help?

Well, I inexpertly compiled it from the latest source release, (stress on the inexpertly) so and am now waiting to translate a few bits and add some tips and tricks to it. Hopefully, I'll also add a little app to calculate CHS for disk images, if my C++ is good enough. It is faster and more stabler than the version on haikuware at the moment, but I still find ReactOS incredibly sluggish on it. Windows 2000 might be better if you can use that for what you want. I think when a stable version of Wine has been compiled, we might have better hopes of fast programs.

Re: winxp on Qemu in haiku, help?

A very simple way to go about this with your existing XP installation, would be to use Vmware's converter, which will convert your physical disk to a disk image.

Qemu can use Vmware disk images, or you can use qemu's qemu-img to convert:
