Operating Systems Workshop at SBC 2010

The CSBC is the largest and most important event of the Brazilian Computer Society. Teachers, researchers, students and professionals in Brazil and abroad present and discuss topics related to the scientific, technological, educational and political in Computer Science in the country More than 5000 Computer Science students (bs, ms, phds) attending plus industry participation are expected.

In 2010, everyone is invited to commemorate the thirtieth edition of the event to be held in Belo Horizonte, on the campus of the Eucharistic Heart Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas). The Quality Course will be held on 18 and July 19 at Ouro Minas Palace Hotel .

The event is organized by the Institute of Informatics, PUC Minas.

Abstract: Haiku is an operating system for personal computers that was developed completely from scratch and incorporating advanced features with emphasis on responding to the user. During this lecture we will discuss the reasons why the decision to write an operating system and more about the features that differentiate it from other systems, including a practical demonstration of it.
