Skips and misses using MediaPlayer and audio MP3 etc...

When playing music with my MediaPlayer like Mp3 and Mp4, I get skips all the time. Just misses in the flow of music. Comes and goes but seems to happen at least once or several times per song.

Any advise?

The music is on the hard drive that has the Haiku R1/A4 on it.

Running on a Zotac zBox Plus ID-12 with 1GB Ram and 250GB hdd.

No other apps running other than WebPositive I type this on as we speak.

Have you tried downloading VLC from Haikuware and try that?

Also have you tried turning on overlay mode in the media player?

I have not but thought basic MP3 playing should be so easy for Haiku and the stock Media Player should handle it.

I would much prefer finding out why mines skips.

But yes, I will try VLC and some-point.

I tinkered in the media prefs and pretty sure I turned on "some" overlay but unsure if it is the exact one you mention.

Can you confirm for me what one you believe I should have turned on?

I seem to remember I checked marked with an X the two input and output overlay options while in the media prefs settings.
