Nucleus RTOS

Anyone already try this ? Just heard about it cause it seems like the new Samsung OS called Bada is based on it.
C++ multitask microkernel built for realtime. I know it's a closed source OS but it really seems like BeOS back in the days ... no ?
Except the open/closed source point, what's the big difference with Haiku nowdays ?

ps: perhaps those two are totally different but perhaps you have the answer

This is a table that was posted as an article by kallisti5. I have moved it here because as an article it is incomplete, but the information can still be useful to others.

Mouse cursor is jumpy and sluggish

Forum thread started by RhapsodyGuru on Sat, 2009-11-07 15:04

Hi...

I am kinda annoyed about how the motion of the cursor on the screen is not smooth at all. On my linux partition on the same system, the mouse pointer moves and redraws on the screen very smoothly, so I know this isn't a hardware problem with my mouse. Any way of fixing this? Would I need to increase DPI or something? I tried slowing down the acceleration on the mouse but it still had that annoying jumpy behavior and it wasn't a smooth movement. I am using the Rudolf nVidia display driver for anyone interested in knowing. Thanks!

How to install OSS driver

Forum thread started by RhapsodyGuru on Thu, 2009-11-05 19:10

Hi...

Where can I find the OSS driver? I want it for the Realtek ALC662 chipset since the HDA driver doesn't seem to work correctly on that particular chipset. How do I install the OSS driver and make it default? Thanks!

How to install VLC 0.86d

Forum thread started by RhapsodyGuru on Thu, 2009-11-05 15:22

Hey...

How can I get VLC to install and run in Haiku? I downloaded the zip file from the OptionalPackages repository and extracted it to root. Unfortunately, I do not see a launchable app file in the newly created vlc directory. Am I supposed to compile vlc? Thanks!

Web Browser status?

Forum thread started by edmundf on Thu, 2009-11-05 14:34

Hi Guys,

I was a long time BeOS user but since my newer hardware wasn't supported and the Firefox browser
was outdated I left BeOS :-(
Once in a while I check Haiku and now I see a real release, great! My very first demand is
a fully working internet computer so do we have a usable browser yet?
If not I am not even try to install anything because I simply need it and don't want to boot
different OSes for different tasks.

What is the status today and what is to be expected in the near ( how long ) future?

Thanks

Edmundf
