Disable CTRL+ALT... workspaces hotkey?

Forum thread started by K_Shaw on Sat, 2009-09-19 05:15

A lot of games use ctrl and alt as the two primary buttons, for example FCEU does and a lot of old games under DosBOX. But this is hazardous to play under Haiku; as pushing CTRL+ALT at the same time an arrow key is down causes the workspace to switch away. I have two workspaces and I only ever use ALT+~ to switch between them. How to disable this annoying behavior?

Article "Compile them resources" has duplicate body

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I noticed while reading through the "Compile them resources" article at http://www.haiku-os.org/documents/dev/compile_them_resources that the body of the article is duplicated. Not sure if that's a website bug or a bug with the article :)

Video on old PC (488Mhz 128MB Ram)

Forum thread started by vampire666 on Fri, 2009-09-18 20:33

Hi there.

I was wondering if Haiku can run *.avi files (xvid, divx, etc..) standard definition (no HD) on an old Celeron 488Mhx and 128MB of RAM (EDIT: and a Geforce4 MX440).

I tried Puppy (very small and light Linux ditro) and GeeXboX, but on this system the video is laggy and therefore can't watch anything on it.

Is Haiku faster then the OP before mentioned?

P.S. What about DVD's?

Playstation 3 running Haiku - BEos

Forum thread started by fynxgloire on Thu, 2009-09-17 09:24

Hi all,
I have Yellowsdog Linux on my Playstation 3 and it is Dog Slow.

Can I install Haiku on my PS3?
The PS3 has 256 megabytes of memory so I guess it meets the minimum requirements.
If not, then can I dual boot it with my Vista on my main machine?
