Icons - Licensing

Forum thread started by vext01 on Wed, 2007-10-10 12:40

Hi there,

I have been watching the development of Haiku from afar and I must say it looks very promising! Keep up the great work!

I think the iconsets used in haiku are absolutely beautiful, and was wondering what license they are under, as I would love to use them for section headings for my personal web-page. Is this allowed?

I managed to find what appeared to be the icons in your svn(http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/haiku/haiku/trunk/data/artwork/icons/ ?), however they seem to be stored in an unexpected (to me) format. Assuming that I am allowed to use these icons, is there a way to convert them into a web-ready format (jpg?). I'm hoping the tools needed will be available on my computer (I'm running OpenBSD, but I have access to solaris, linux and windows too).

Thanks.

Edd

Contact Remi Grumeau how?

Forum thread started by Kevin Ar18 on Sun, 2007-10-07 01:13

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Remi Grumeau of beosfrance.com?
I tried his profile contact here: http://haiku-os.org/user/beosfrance
I also tried the contact form on his website.

It's possible he's been away for a while, or he had problems emailing me. However, if anybody knows another way to get in touch with him, I'd be interested....

Haiku Audiophile Goodness! :o)

Forum thread started by El-Al on Sat, 2007-10-06 21:00

I have to say I am absolutely delighted by the news that drivers for these cards have been added to the repo! My main machine is host to 2x 2496s' albeit solely for use by Windows. Until now that is!

My concern is this: are these drivers derived from the work done on the BeOS ICE drivers? If so, are they infringing any NDA/copyright anywhere along the line?

If not, are they from a gpl/Linux source?

Thanks for any info....

Question on installing Haiku natively

Forum thread started by eightbit on Thu, 2007-10-04 18:03

What's the easiest route to install Haiku on a hard drive. I would like to be able to use a prebuilt image to do this , as I am not able to access the internet (svn) with either BeOS or Zeta.
I have both R5 and Zeta. Is there a wiki about this?

Hi!

This is for German users, so I better continue in German... :)

Könnt ja mal vorbeischauen.

BFS/SkyFS viewer for windows released

Forum thread started by Darkness on Wed, 2007-10-03 12:36

Hi,

I have released the first version of my viewer application for BFS and SkyFS. This is a GUI application for Windows XP and supports viewing of the file structure, copy single files and view attributes.

Screenshot and download are here:

Note, this is just a preview release so people can get an idea of what might be coming next. It is not bug-free.
