Hi everyone, even if I know that it's just my second post, I wanna introduce this new idea.

PREFACE: I'm the president of an Italian cultural association that teaches emerging artists to indipendently produce theirselves using free (as in speech) softwares/licenses.

OK, so you've already reconstructed most of the BeOS API.

I'm sure that an X11 port to Haiku has already been called for, even though BeOS already had POSIX compatibility.

And I've already mentioned XUL.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned XGL yet.

Is an equivalent to XGL for Haiku planned, or will the OS just make use of its POSIX co

...and I am totally blown away! On my humble 1.6 P4 (BeOS variant Box) with only 256MB ram I sat and watched with absolute amazement as the OS built (Ok! Ok! A bit like watching paint dry I know).

Let me just say that I've tried Linux (and other Unices), and have mostly used Windows, but I am (extremely) dissatisfied with both of them.

So I've read a bit on BeOS, and how the architecture of the system differed from other OS architectures, such as those of Windows or Linux/Unix, in its simplicity, modularity and functionality (not to mention that I've seen screenshots). That said, I want to try out Haiku once it comes out.
