Abrvs., Devel-lingo, pictures

Now, perhaps one cold accuse me of being a bit too wordy, but, I am no fan of abbreviations, especially those that happen to be 1. jargon or 2. Computing terms. Which is a bit ironic since I use computers so much. Often, it is better to say Developer rather than devel. I think that we should keep this in ming when adding information to the Drupal website. Also, I hope everyone will consider using a picture, graphic, diagram, or icon once-in-a-while (or may thrice-in-a-while). Images not only attract attention where it is needed but also create visual stimuli for the readers that makes them more likely to stay and explore. A good example of this is mozilla.com

Drupal site VS Wiki

Forum thread started by HaikuSecurity on Tue, 2006-08-15 07:18

It seems to me that a lot of effort is being duplicated in the wiki and new drupal-cms-site.

I vote the wiki be killed in favour of the new official site, otherwise the contributors are going to get fed-up with doubled effort, and end users are going to get confused.

Slow Wiki - full of spam

Forum thread started by umccullough on Tue, 2006-08-08 19:24

Looks like we're suffering a sudden spam attack on the Wiki - and it has gotten VERY SLOW for me (I can't even revert pages atm)...

We need to do something. We should disable anonymous posting, add Captchas for registration, and start blocking/banning IPs/users.

Information and communication architecture

Forum thread started by HaikuSecurity on Sun, 2006-08-06 10:39

Something was mentioned in another thread which I think needs to be thought about and decided on:

Single sign on and almalgomation.

As it is, the devs don't seem to pay much attention to the forums, and use the mailing list to communicate. As this is the case, the forums need not have Team sections; there are better ways to disseminate info.
