General Haiku Discussion

The OpenGL renderer

Forum thread started by latte on Wed, 2006-07-05 08:15

Hi all -

I saw a while back that the OpenGL renderer is a bit broken at the moment (saw an "interesting" screenshot of the teapot demo .... ;-) )

So, was just wondering - is there an approximate timeframe for that being fixed and included in Haiku again? ( I wouldn't imagine it's top-priority, but when it is fixed, I'm keen to try that teapot demo myself ). Thanks in advance -

Layout proposal

Very early stages! Very very very early!

Use Firefox or Opera...Internet Explorer=my head asplode.

It would need to be reworked to be more browser compatible, and the menus don't work yet. But I'd welcome constructive criticism of the layout.

Haiku and Plan9

How well devs in haiku knows Plan 9 From Bell-Labs? Have you been imitating it? ( please answer yes. :] )

I liked Plan9 implementation, to what I learned about it. It all looked very simple in principles. Inceribly simple! I didn't know one would be able to leave THAT much useles things away from operating system. :D It's closeness to perfection blinds me.

Netstack development and bounties

Forum thread started by admin on Sat, 2006-06-24 09:28

Hi Haikusas!

I was wondering... The netstack is getting increasingly more attention lately with some heavy hitters like Axel, Oliver, Philippe (who I always read as Houdini :) ) and quite a few more focusing on it. Additionally Andrew Galante is paid to work full-time on networking. At the same time there’s an unclaimed codebounty at haikubounties.org of $700. Why hasn’t Haiku Inc. claimed that money yet?
