I saw this on the mailing list recently. The question was should we recreate SoftwareValet/PackageBuilder? I think it would be a great idea. I could be considered your typical Haiku end user or close to it.

A few days ago, I was happily downloading the latest Haiku Revisions from SVN and building them on my Athlon XP 2000+ BeOS box with abandon. And I was a happy camper.

But that has ceased. Now, when I attempt to build, I get a spew of "Failed..." and "Skipped..." error mesages. This can't be found and that can't be compiled... etc. On and on and on it goes, right to the end.

Hi all -
I just have a couple of questions about the "build factory".

When I pop over to that page, it very often shows a date (just above the two download sites) that is 8-10 days old or so. I've just been there now, and it was showing 27th April!

There is a bug concerning ps/2 keyboards which makes atlest my keyboard unusable. (Bug 155)
Since Feb, 14 2006 it is (Re)open.
There seem to be no progress.

Since I've seen some progress in the project, I've been wondering, how long would it be to have a beta version of the system with at least this features:
- CD boot and Installation
- Decent Hardware Support
