We're using GNU's GDB

Forum thread started by j_freeman on Wed, 2006-03-29 19:06

This never really clicked since I've been testing regularly (or trying to at least), but I just noticed that the native debugger used is GNU's GDB, which--and correct me if I'm wrong--is licensed under the terms of the GPL.

Forum thread started by ebykm on Tue, 2006-03-28 16:19

Hi all, I'm new to BeOS since x86 porting. I have couple of queries regarding BeOS.

1, What is the difference between BeOS Max, BeOS Developer Edition from www.beosonline.com and Haiku ?. Is BeOS Dev Ed 2.x Haiku or Zeta.

Forum thread started by snes_rocks on Fri, 2006-03-24 22:16

What is the point of BNX?
As stated on OSNews, Sven Jorg is slapping all of Haiku's hard work in the way of Kits onto the QNX kernel and XFS.

Installing Haiku on top of BeOS

Forum thread started by shaka on Thu, 2006-03-23 12:09

As an experiment, I installed Haiku on top of Be (xbeox vr 2.1) and it worked- as long as you remove Tracker and Deskbar settings/prefs before installing Haiku, otherwise Deskbar/Tracker crash.
I thought of doing this after installing liblayout to get ColdCut to run (and it did!)

"packaged with Haiku"

Forum thread started by noisetonepause on Mon, 2006-03-20 21:52

Hi.

I saw on another thread (about networking) the phrase 'everything on bebits will probably be packaged with Haiku' in reference to drivers. As I understand, this means that a user will have about a hundred drivers installed that they don't need.
