Fusion - MPT inside Haiku?

Forum thread started by krish240574 on Thu, 2005-06-30 17:23

Hello All,
I was looking at the Serial attached SCSI adapters from LSILogic and was wondering if Haiku supported SAS at all. On reading further, I figured that Haiku would need the Fusion MPT implemented first, in order for the LSILogic cards to work, since they're all based on the Fusion MPT architecture.

hardware datasheets/technical documentation

Forum thread started by krish240574 on Thu, 2005-06-30 10:08

Hello All,
I am an independent developer based in India, deeply interested in writing device drivers for Haiku, in the storage hardware realm.
Can anyone tell me how I can go about procuring datasheets/technical documentation, for writing device drivers? (I am a beginner in this area, and would appreciate any guidance).

Thoughts on usability and organisation

Intro to post
So this is my first post to the Haiku boards (everybody groan: another outsider looking in :->). I don't know how well the forum will deal with a lenghty(ish) post, so apologies for that. I've been working on getting familiar with the way everything works around here so I can start contributing to the project, and thought I'd lay down some musings (as a newcomer) on how things are presented before I get too familiar with everything.

BeOS/Haiku & newer hardware

Forum thread started by DLazlo on Mon, 2005-06-27 09:58

It's been a long time since I've seen any Berometer specs. Anyone have space for some listings of BeOS, BeOS/Haiku hybrid, PhOS, and Zeta systems running on some of the newer hardware that's come out in the last couple of years?

Having some old stuff lying around I decided that having a dedicated media PC was easier that moving my main PC.
Old stuff being old stuff I've got my eye on BeOS to power it. Now I've got:

What about translations? who send them to?

Forum thread started by TDL on Wed, 2005-06-22 14:58

Hi,
I just finished my second translation (the multimedia kit tutorial from the newbie files), and am wondering what should happen with them now...is there a person i should send them to or a special thread to post in?

Haiku needs standards!

The way BeOS hardware compatibility is represented (at BeDrivers; the only source/resource for hardware compatibility?) and the way some software is made available (BeBits; the only source/resource for BeOS software?) is, I tend to feel, woefully inadequate for those of us who are trying to get into (or back into) the BeOS scene, so we can be ready for Haiku when it's ready.
