any plans for netinstaller / network installer in haiku?

Forum thread started by alzen on Wed, 2005-01-19 16:48

hi, i wonder if there is a chance to see network installer in haiku someday (ofcourse after R1 is released). here we can read that linux installers are not friendly in some user's opinions, it is quite difficult to say but in my opinion linux installers like in archlinux are really nice; but ofcourse installer like we have in beos max will be much better. why i mentioned archlinux; because this distro has very nice network installer; i put it on small 210mb cd and can have always in my pocket :D. is there any plans for smaller .iso with haiku from that we will be able to download packages via network (in my opinion this would be awesome )?

Bug tracker improvements

Forum thread started by zegenie on Mon, 2005-01-17 01:05

Hi, Haiku team.

I'm the development team leader of "BUGS" (the bug genie), which is the bug tracker I've noticed you use. I've read a few complaints about the bug tracker, and seen some bug "reports" in these forums about how it works.

Horribly self indulgent post here, but due to the long outage, this is the first post of 2005!

Platform

While I realise the vast majority of *BeOS is run on x86 these days, several developments of late make me think that an immediate push to recruit 'former' BeOS PPC devs to join in and start getting the NewOS/Haiku branch up to par with the x86 branch could well be a jumpstart for both branches in the near future.

Expand -o- Matic

Hi I don't know if this is the place but any way :)

Expand -o- Matic does not open in a new window if i'm Expanding a file. It replaces the source and Destination info in the existing window but nothing else.
