Os Shed

Forum thread started by lxstoian on Thu, 2011-08-25 19:12

So I have noticed a lack of sites that cover solely the newly emerging os'es like HAIKU, AROS, ReactOs, and decided to give it a try to cover news , provide reviews and tutorial.
Check out the site here http://osshed.blogspot.com/ and it will be more HAIKU heavy then anything else :).

How to watch YouTube on HAIKU

Forum thread started by lxstoian on Tue, 2011-08-23 08:02

I'm planing on going full time HAIKU on my AMD APU netbook once the Radeon_HD driver starts working. I have sorted out most of my software needs except a way to view youtube videos. Has anyone figured out a way to do so and if yes I would like to know. I'm not looking for flash on haiku but a way to just watch the videos.
Thanks in advance.

dev.haiku-os.org is not working

Forum thread started by HaikuandReactOSFan on Fri, 2011-08-19 18:31

Just a few minutes ago, when I was in Haiku's development site, I clicked on a link to a ticket, and instead of showing the ticket, It gave an error message that said, "Oops... Trac detected an internal error: TimeoutError: Unable to get database connection within 0 seconds." And just simply typing "dev.haiku-os.org" brings me to this error message. Is anybody else experiencing this error message when accessing dev.haiku-os.org?

YouTube downloading site that works in Haiku

Forum thread started by ribbonz on Sun, 2011-08-14 07:46

Been bummed out that most of the online YouTube downloading sites don't work in Haiku because they use Java (e.g. keepvid.com, etc.)?

Well, I just came across one that doesn't use Java and it works perfectly.

ssyoutube.com

Yep, just 'youtube.com' with a 'ss' added to the front.

You get your choice of formats to download (generally FLV, MP4, and WebM) and you can click on a little info link to see details about that format. I just downloaded a few videos using Web+ and it worked great.

Sweet!
