Xi3 would be cool little Be/Haiku Box

Forum thread started by macsociety on Fri, 2011-01-07 02:35

Never even saw this product back last year when it was introduced. Just won CES award for something. An ultra small modular computer called Xi3. Very sleek looking and has up to a Athlon II 64 2.2GHz chip inside. Would digg and wonder of Haiku would work on something like this. Since Haiku is a little bit different, would be cool to have a HaikuBox like this little demon.

Really digging the small footprint and sleek looks.

Look at this use of a Kinect controller, haiku is in a state right now where this could be implemented. Well if haiku needs a killer app to motivate users, here you go, do this better then everyone else.

Problem with building Haiku on Ubuntu Linux

Forum thread started by Eva on Mon, 2011-01-03 00:36

I followed the instructions on http://www.haiku-os.org/documents/dev/building_haiku_ubuntu_linux_step_step.
When I tried to "make" the Haiku Jam, I met the following problems:

yzhua3@ubuntu:~/develop/haiku/buildtools/jam$ make
cc -o ./jam0 -O3 builtins.c command.c compile.c execunix.c execvms.c expand.c filent.c fileos2.c fileunix.c filevms.c glob.c hash.c headers.c jam.c jambase.c jamgram.c lists.c make.c make1.c newstr.c option.c parse.c pathunix.c pathvms.c regexp.c rules.c scan.c search.c timestamp.c variable.c
execunix.c: In function ‘execcmd’:
execunix.c:235: warning: incompatible implicit declaration of built-in function ‘_exit’
pathunix.c: In function ‘normalize_path’:

LINKLIBS= ./jam0

Haiku Network Kit

Forum thread started by Rossco92 on Tue, 2010-12-28 22:51

I'm new to Haiku development and have purchased an ebook on the subject. It's very informative and it does exactly what it says on the tin, however I cannot find any material online about programming using the Network Kit.

Is there any Haiku/BeOS material on using the Network Kit? Any help is appreciated :)

install Paladin package on Haiku

Forum thread started by Eva on Mon, 2010-12-27 06:45

I am trying to install Paladin package on Haiku. I downloaded
Paladin and saved it on desktop. Next I opened Terminal and
first ran "cd Desktop" and then ran
"installoptionalpackabe -a Paladin1.3.pkg". The Terminal showed
"To be installed". I do not know whether Paladin has been successfully
installed or not. (I guess it has not since I cannot find it.)

Thanks in advance.
