tree updates

Forum thread started by inseculous on Fri, 2005-07-22 15:33

I've been trying to get a subversion update on the tree for three days now and all I get is a connection refused error. I was able to update four days ago. Did something happen to the repository? I reinstalled the subversion package off the haiku site but still have the same problem.

lxr for source code browsing?

Forum thread started by ChrisK on Sat, 2005-07-16 21:12

Lately I was searching around for possibilities of cross-referenced source code browsing of the Haiku source tree to make source code comprehension easier.

One (free software) option that caught my eye first, was the Redhat Source Navigator. I only took a short look at it, but the available Windows binary seemed to do its job. Compiling under BeOS R5, though, isn't possible, because it relies on TCL/TK, and to my knowledge at least the TK-part isn't available for BeOS.

How to build a boot image for PPC

Forum thread started by TimK on Fri, 2005-07-01 13:47

Hi,

This might be newbie questions, but ...
I am thinking to start some developing for Haiku on Pegasos.
In what shape are the boot loader for PPC / Pegasos?
I heard that AxelD did a lot of work for it for BeGeisteret a year ago.

BeBook-Bot in #HaikuDev on irc.freenode.net.

Forum thread started by McCall on Thu, 2005-06-23 14:55

Hi Folks,

I am wondering how hard it would be to hook up a "bot" on the #HaikuDev channel on irc.freenode.net into the BeBook. I was thinking of making it so you can type !BView and it will report the constructors back or !sample BView and it would report an example of how to use it etc. There used to be a bot called regurg in #BeDev on efnet that was very useful, something like this would be great.

Starting out/Zeta as a development platform?/Who needs help?

Forum thread started by dodger on Mon, 2005-06-13 20:38

Hi there !

I discovered Haiku quite a while ago, and now that I've learnt a whole lot more of programming (I'm a computing student, in France), I'd really like to help out a little.

So first I'll have to put up a development environment. And I'd also like it to be usable with never hardware, WiFi, etc. so Zeta looks good, but is it possible to replace Zeta's modules to test Haiku's like it is possible with BeOS 5? If not, then I'll stick with BeOS Max 5 for developing, I guess.

Transparent replicants

Forum thread started by scuro on Thu, 2005-05-12 15:18

Hi,

i'm doing some experiments with programming replicants. I've searched on how to make replicants transparent, but couldn't find any information. The previous newsletter talks about making them transparent while draggeng them, and i've come across this app (http://www.bebits.com/app/2638) wich actually creates transparent replicants. So it is possible. Only problem is I don't know where to start.
