Trouble running mplayer

Forum thread started by un_spacyar on Sun, 2015-05-31 00:08

Hello. I installed the recent mplayer package from HaikuDept. However, I get the following error when play any video:

mplayer Mazinger.mp4

3DNowExt supported but disabled

Playing Mazinger.mp4.

It usually happens when you run it on a CPU different than the one it was

- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and

- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and

I'm using hrev49210 -x86_gcc2 build.

Anyone get the same error?

Thank you!

web+ - gmail and fullscreen YT HTML5 vids

Forum thread started by danboid on Sat, 2015-05-30 21:12

Before I go and report these as bugs or feature requests on the tracker, If required, I wanted to try and get some feedback here.

I updated Haiku today and web+ got updated too. I was happy to see I can now play HTML5 videos on YouTube under web+ without having to use ubertuber. This wasn't working the last time I tried it a few weeks ago so that was a nice surprise but I was disappointed I couldn't make the videos full screen as I can when playing HTML5 vids under Linux. When I click the full screen icon, it makes the video bigger but not full screen. Is this a planned feature?

Also, the first web site I always try when testing a browser is gmail. gmail works fine under qupzilla (although it does moan about it being an unsupported browser) but I've yet to be able to even log into gmail using web+. As a result, I don't really use webpositive as gmail is must-have for me right now. Is this a known issue?

USB Install

Forum thread started by DFergATL on Sat, 2015-05-30 03:17

I have spent the evening attempting to install Haiku from my laptop HD to a usb using the installer program. I have done this many time in the past. I use it as a backup. Today I went to do that after updating my install this evening to the latest nightly. It appears that the installer is not coping all the files. In the system folder all that I have is:

Cache
non-packaged
packages
settings
var

and that is it. I only have these folders. No tracker, or any of the other folders or apps that should be in system. I have tried this on 3 USB drives and it happens the same way each time. All three of these drives have been used in the pass for the exact same thing and was fine.

I watched the installer as it was going and it got to aprox 2/3 of the way through coping files and then just acted like it was done, no errors. But the progress bar and file count clearly did not get any where near the end.

There i can get free pascale for haiku?

Forum thread started by lelldorin on Tue, 2015-05-19 20:39

I want to try to compile EGSL for Haiku on current nightly builds but i need free pascal, in HaikuDepot i does not found it.

Any idea?

How can i add a new file nto the haiku menu?

Forum thread started by lelldorin on Tue, 2015-05-19 20:39

In old days i can create a link of a software into the haiku menü using a shortcut, but how to do that on current nightlys? It seems to be virtual not a folder as in old days.
