Error on quitting VMPlayer

Forum thread started by humdinger on Sun, 2007-04-01 07:24

Hello there!

VMPlayer complains when it's quitting.

I shutdown Haiku, wait until it's finished and then close the VMPlayer window. It hangs at 52% while "saving virtual machine state" and an error alert pops up telling me

VMware Player unrecoverable error: (vmx)
ASSERT C:/ob/bora-34682/bora/devices/mainmem/mainMemHosted.c:2631 bugNr=53156

Does anyone experience the same?
Should I care about it?
I doubt it, but could there be a connection to my other issue, see http://haiku-os.org/community/forum/importing_data_apps_to_haiku_vmware

Thanks
Humdinger

How to start?

Forum thread started by FleetCommand on Tue, 2007-03-20 21:15

Hi guys,

I've browsed the applications supplied with Haiku, but I wonder where to find a guide on setting up the network? If you have a link to a tutorial or something, that would be enough for me :)

(another thing: does the emulated sound blaster work or we have only AC97-codec at this moment?)

Thank you for your help

Terminal

Forum thread started by rppp01a on Thu, 2007-03-15 03:48

Just found Haiku 2 days ago.
I used BeOS from version 4.0 through 5.03. I sadly gave it up in 2002. I am now running Haiku in a VMWare window under XP. I have rudimentary networking functioning, though the only internet applicaiton I have to use is ftp.
If I close a Terminal window, I cannot start a new one. I have a build from 2 weeks ago.
I'll get to finding a www browser. Just want to get some of these minor things adjusted.

By the way. This is awesome. I'm enjoying Haiku.

Hi guys,
Im trying to install Haiku from a LiveCD (HaikuLiveCD script)....

But if I try install on my notebook Compaq Armada 1575DM with BeOS Max, on boot I get the error: no path found, scan for all partitions. And go to 'safe menu' where if I scan my drive I cant find any partition :/

I try format my disk to Fat32 and a get same error....

Any one got this problem or knows the solution??

Can't boot (Grub - Debian Etch)

Forum thread started by Squall on Mon, 2007-03-12 19:17

Hello everybody! I found Haiku and I'm very interested. I already emulated it on qemu on my Linux and I like it. I don't want to kill my Linux. I copied the files from the image to my partition hda7 and I added a entry in Grub.
But the problem is, that grub don't recognition the filesystem. It's ext3 Format filesystem. Is this correct or need it another filesystem?

Thanks

Intel Extreme Graphics 2 855 GME driver

Forum thread started by Pintaio on Mon, 2007-03-05 21:46

I've tested Haiku Intel Extreme driver in my notebook HP Pavillion ze2070ea, with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 855 GME driver, and BeOS R5 Pro, and it doesn't run.
How can i help to improve this driver so it runs on my hardware?
Thanks
