Forum thread started by rochk on Wed, 2007-01-31 13:07

'parse error at EOF' message when executing Jam

Forum thread started by Pierpaolo on Wed, 2007-01-31 12:02

Hi to everyone,
recently I decided to do a clean BeOS reinstall on my old laptop, choosing to try the BeOS DevEd 1.1 rather than BeOS MAX edition 3.1 that I formerly run.
Under BeOS Max I was able to succesfully complete the building of Haiku (and I used to install it too in a dedicated partition of the HD, enjoying it very very much!)

Yesterday I downloaded the svn trunk, did ./configure stuff, but when I execute the 'jam -q haiku-image', I obtain just the following:

baron@vimba:~/haiku/src/trunk# jam -q haiku-image
parse error at EOF

but the building process continue (apparently) without troubles(*); is this a normal behaviour or there is something wrong I did?

Can't Install Haiku on a real hardware

Forum thread started by Pintaio on Wed, 2007-01-24 18:57

I've download a Haiku nightly build and i've tried to install it as is explain here: http://haikunews.org/related/1105
But, i can't.
I've used Mount Image instead of imagemounter, but i've got the same.
The problem is that when i run Installer and try to change "install from" to Haiku, this doesn't appear.
What can i do?

Networking ftp?

Hi all,

Been lurking for eons and have been downloading vmware images regularly. I have followed all the instructions on the mailing list as best I can and have got my interface up and configured. I can ping any IP address local or internet succesfully and I can start an ftp session and connect to an ftp server (65.199.121.80). --update-- I can login as user anonymous and have succesfully transferred small files. ftp seems to choke on larger files (progress indicator line ends with "stalled"). --end update--

linux build prob

Getting lots of strange errors:

first error (jam -q haiku-image):

...failed C++ generated/objects/linux/x86/release/tools/rc/compile.o ...
...skipped <build>librdef.a for lack of <build>librdef.a(compile.o)...

Build factory and boot floppy

Forum thread started by beos.prv.pl on Mon, 2006-12-25 09:21

I think that adding to the build factory boot floppy image and floppy cd
image would be a not bad idea (creation of Haiku Live cd could be
much simpler) :)
