How do you indentify missing libraries in BeOS?

Forum thread started by hunnia on Sat, 2006-02-18 12:30

I am trying to install X11.
xterm complaints about a missing library but does not need it.

In Linux it is simple. Do a "ldd xterm" and all the libraries used are listed and the missing libraries are indicated.

Via-3058 AC97 and multiaudio

Forum thread started by Kev on Fri, 2006-02-17 13:50

Hi everyone,

When I got my new eMachines box here back at the new year, I can't remember if the onboard sound worked or not out of the box with BeOS Max (I had to use Max rather than R5 because my R5 CD wouldn't boot without the AMD kernel patch, and the new machine didn't come with a floppy drive.)

runtime_loader : troubles reading ELP header

Forum thread started by zdenek.hrib on Wed, 2006-02-15 11:49

I am completely new user of haiku. I have tried to download image from http://www.schmidp.com/index.php?option=com_files&path=/haiku/images/ and run Haiku in VMWare Player under Windows 2k on TOSHIBA Portege 7020CT, but when running Deskbar or Tracker from terminal (as described in http://haiku-os.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=4496#4496) I got some "runtime_loader : troubles reading ELP header" error.

3C905B support

Forum thread started by hunnia on Thu, 2006-02-02 14:26

On BeOS my 3C905 Card is not recognized. It works in Linux and Syllable.
I did try to put it into PCI slot 1 and 3 and 4.

instead of ec9xx driver I did try the 3c920 driver. No Use.
Tried Bone. Did not help.

Mounting

Forum thread started by Dude on Wed, 2006-01-25 14:25

Hi everybody!

It's the first time for years I reinstalled BeOS (Max Edition 3.1b) on my computer. Everything works fine except mounting devices from the network, neither by NFS nor CIFS. I always get a "mount: General OS error".

Disappearing BFS Partition

Forum thread started by allenb on Sat, 2005-12-03 21:45

Rather suddenly, one of my BFS partitions disappeared (sort of). Before I can explain, here's some important background information:

I have 2 hard drives. The first is a 40GB drive that contains my "main" BeOSR5 partition and an extremely small FAT32 partition. The second hard drive is a 120GB drive with an NTFS primamry partition and three logical drives (two FAT32 and the other my "development" BFS drive). This arrangement has worked fine for the last 2 years or so. I have Bootman installled on the "main" BFS partition and it will let me select from by two BeOS installations or windows.
