Corrupt zip files

When trying to transfer syslog files from one Haiku PC to another, I zip the log folder containing the syslog files and copy the zip file to a USB stick. However, upon copying the zip archive on to the second PC and opening the archive, the contents are unreadable - looking like some kind of binary code. Could this be a bug in the Haiku zip archiver? If I go back to the first PC and open the zip file I created, all is well. It appears to be getting corrupted during the copy process.

I have R1Alpha4.1 just installed on my system but it is not seeing my realtek ethernet port. I hear the lastest nightlies support it.

I don't want to lose the install I did so is there a step-by-step on how to install the latest nightly without screwing up my existing install so all my settings and such stay as they have been?

Please point me in the correct direction.

Nvidia Chipset Support

I recently picked up a HP XW9400 dual quad core workstation which uses the Nvidia nForce Professional 3600 MCP. I have tested it with the 46589 x86_64 ISO. It boots to the live cd from a USB stick, and everything appears to function correctly, except that it does not detect any of the hard drives connected to the system. Should I file a ticket for this issue? I'd like to be able to install Haiku on a spare drive for testing on this hardware platform.

Does Haiku work with Realtek® 8111F Network Port

My Haiku is not detecting the network port on my new system. It is a Asus P8H77-I Motherboard and the network port is Realtek® 8111F

Should this be working with Haiku?

Right now I am having to use a USB dongle with ethernet port to get Internet on my new system.

Unable to copy soundfonts

Hi!
This might be a stupid problem but so far I dont know how to solve it.
When I try to copy my downloaded soundfonts to /boot/system/data/synth it says that I am not allowed to copy because the volume is read-only.
All advice how to solve this would be mostly appreciated.

Network problem in new PM nightlies

Hi!
I have been using Haiku as my main system for almost two years now and just changed to the new PM nightlies but have encountered some problems with it so far.
The biggest and most annoying problem is that my network settings ( IP-address etc.) get messed up by default and I cant connect to the internet. I change them but then they get messed up again and it allways takes me three or four attempts until I can finally connect and this is indeed tedious and annoying.
All advice about any solution or workaround would be most welcome.

I was building Haiku on Mac OS X. It was going fine, but after downloading some files, I got this:
