Haiku on Compaq Armada M700 - No sound

Forum thread started by skywest on Fri, 2013-10-11 13:53

Been trying out alternative OS offerings rather then throw this old laptop away and Haiku is by far the best of the bunch, installing and booting with no problems.

Only weird thing is that I can't get any sound. Weird, because the sound built into this laptop is just a common ES1370. The media player runs and plays audio/video etc but just no sound.

any suggestions welcome as I'm just trying to use this laptop for videos and music so sound is quite important !

Building Haiku from the pre-packaged Haiku virtual machine

Forum thread started by dbooher on Thu, 2013-10-10 16:44

The VM works great, so I decided to try to build Haiku under Haiku. After git'ting the source, I run the configure and get the error below. I was under the impression that all the buildtools are already pre-packaged. Also, what is the line editor to use in Terminal? No vi? I'd like to see what's at line 702 :)

~/haiku> ./configure
./configure: line 702: package: command not found
Unsupported target architecture: ""
~/haiku>
