Multiple video adaptors, selection

Forum thread started by mounty on Thu, 2013-05-30 23:46

This is a rehash of a thread on the developer mailing list from September 2011 and I wonder how things have moved on since then.

My computer is an HP t5745 which has two video outputs, shown in the GNU/Linux 'lspci' output as:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

My display is connected to the second device but Haiku displays to the first, which is a lower-resolution analogue output and in fact it won't go beyond 1024x768. How can Haiku be made to display to the second ?

There is no BIOS option to select the output.

Is there a ticket for multiple video ?

[solved] Any (mature) BeOS user still knows the name of that application?

Forum thread started by prOSy on Thu, 2013-05-30 06:57

Hello,

while i've been searching my private "Be-Bits-Archives" for some bits, i stumbled upon tons of folders with screenshots of my personal BeOS history.
And i've found a picture showing an application (a replicant to be more precise) which i'd love to see working in Haiku.
Unfortunately i forgot the name of the application, so i've been unable to search for it in my archives and/or BeShare.
Here is a picture, notice the left lower corner (it shows CPU pulse, memory usage and HDD usage)):

Anyone remember or know the name of it?
Do we (the Haiku community) have the source code of this application, or anyone knows the author so we could contact him/her and ask for the sources?

Thanks in advance!

what to do when BFS becomes corrupted ?

Forum thread started by KantosKan on Mon, 2013-05-27 20:25

Hello, After a kernel panic (caused by unmounting a usb stick), it appears that the disk directory has been corrupted. Any attempt to access config/settings/Media/ results in kernel debug land, even from the terminal. Does anyone know if there an app that can fix a currupt file system ?

Could anyone help me run JabRef (Java)?

Forum thread started by dzaragoza on Sat, 2013-05-25 00:23

Hello

Could anyone help me run the java JabRef? It is a reference manage and it would be a great complement to Texmaker.

JabRef is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/jabref/files/jabref/

I have installed the package DevelopmentJava and tried to run it with java -jar jabref.jar but there are some missing dependencies.

There are multiple versions, maybe one of them can be run in Haiku?

No information on download/install java

Forum thread started by peterm1561 on Thu, 2013-05-16 14:27

I tried to find information on the latest and greatest of java on Haiku. After a long search I found a version and a forum topic with information with some information how to set up.
A simple java -version command already ended up in errors.

I use one of the latest nightly builds.

Is there more information available on this subject (and have I overlooked this)?
