libpng15.so.15 Missing...

Forum thread started by el.tigre.20 on Wed, 2013-02-06 20:58

So, I attempted to install and run Qupzilla 1.3.5 but when I went to launch it, I get an error message saying that I'm missing libpng15.so.15
Where can I get this file? and how do I go about fixing this issue? WebPositive works totally fine, so I don't know what the issue at hand is. Please explain! Thanks so much!

Running Haiku .iso on Parallels 8

Forum thread started by markfawcett on Wed, 2013-02-06 07:09

I've been trying to get Haiku to run inside a parallels (v8; MAC OS X Mountain Lion) running on an iMac with a quad-core intel i5; using the latest .iso file (as of 5 Feb 2013).

I create a new VM, point it at the .iso file and tell Parallels it's of OS type 'other'.

I see the Haiku splash / loading screen but it jams with the leftmost 4 icons lit and the 3 rightmost icons unlit (the 1st unlit is the 'chip').

I've looked into previous issues with Parallels and have tried elements such as ensuring there's plenty of RAM available to the VM and disabling networking; nothing seems to help.

Is there something obvious I'm not doing or a way of getting diagnostics from Haiku?

Many thanks

Mark

Two problems with R1/Alpha4.1

Forum thread started by realdarkman on Tue, 2013-02-05 11:02

Hi,

I installed Haiku R1/Alpha 4.1 on my PC. Runs good, but two problems:

1. If the system is booting and lighting up the boot icons, it hangs on the fourth icon (Boot disk) for few minutes. The fifth icon (Chip) is dark.
2. No Audio, it's a CMI8768 onBoard chip. With Linux no problems!

Any hints?

Thanks!

Haiku crashes regularly on 2 different hardwares ?

Forum thread started by Mago on Fri, 2013-02-01 18:30

Hello,

I've been using Haiku last Sunday and spent the day following the C++ tutorial, learned a lot, loved it, everything went fine.

Next day I boot it up, start a pdf, it crashes with a console taking half the screen but the machine was completely freezed. After that it would crash very early after I start using it, either when I save a file or when I gcc something or...

Tried it on my laptop, now it crashes at the first boot (similar thing, console takes half the screen and I can't do anything). Tried alpha1 r3 too and it's the same. It seems to work ok in a virtualbox vm under win7 but perfs are really slow...

Anyway, what can I provide to get some help ? The errors seem to be different everytime. It is somewhat old hardware (3-5 years for the 2 comps, both are core2duo, 1 IDE disk 1 is SATA, 3 and 4G of RAM), so I expected it to be supported. Please tell me if you need any additionnal info, like should I write down the errors displayed or something ? Weirdest thing is that it worked perfectly well for a full day... LiveCD seems to work fine too...

Regards,
