Time wrong when running 1A4.1 from cd

Forum thread started by Feldagast on Sun, 2012-12-23 22:42

I cant figure out how to submit a ticket maybe someone else will report this for me. Booting from the 1A4.1 disk and running Haiku from it resets my time and date. After rebooting back into Windows I have to reset the time and date.

Booting Haiku Natively (no VM) on brand new iMac (EFI)

Forum thread started by dynexam on Sun, 2012-12-23 22:37

Is is possible yet to boot Haiku natively on a new/recent EFI-based Mac (in this case, an iMac)?

If so, what do I need to do to get this working?

Thanks.

Video out of HDMI port on PC only low resolutions, why?

Forum thread started by macsociety on Sun, 2012-12-23 18:40

Are there any known issues with Haiku R1 Alpha 4 outputting video via HDMI port on PCs?

Initially I installed Haiku on my PC but used the VGA port. I have up to 1920 x 1080 on my 24" display.

I now have connected the same system to larger 27" display and want the same 1920 x 1080. This display has only HDMI, DVI, and Display Port inputs.

So I connected via HDMI to HDMI and after booting in SAFE Mode got video but I can't get the higher 1920 x 1080 in this scenario. I get something like 1024 x 720 or something like that and no other options show in the Screen Preferences.

Would I maybe get more options if I went HDMI to DVI instead?

I would prefer using this larger 27" display but really want 1920 x 1080 so might have to stick with VGA on my 24" display.

I already know sound does not work over HDMI but that is no biggee as I connect my speakers to the speaker port and sound is fine.

Skips and misses using MediaPlayer and audio MP3 etc...

Forum thread started by macsociety on Sun, 2012-12-23 16:26

When playing music with my MediaPlayer like Mp3 and Mp4, I get skips all the time. Just misses in the flow of music. Comes and goes but seems to happen at least once or several times per song.

Any advise?

The music is on the hard drive that has the Haiku R1/A4 on it.

Running on a Zotac zBox Plus ID-12 with 1GB Ram and 250GB hdd.

No other apps running other than WebPositive I type this on as we speak.

How to figure out what video driver Haiku is using ?

Forum thread started by macsociety on Sun, 2012-12-23 01:25

I have a new Zotac system with Haiku R1/Alpha4 installed and curious how I can tell what video driver is being used. Is it Vesa or ?

I think there is a command one can type in Terminal but I can't figuire it out.

This little Zotac zBox Plus supposed to have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150.

Does Haiku support that or has it switched to VESA during my install and only using that?

Thanks

HP Pavilion dv1130EA Notebook PC

Forum thread started by Cornolius on Thu, 2012-12-20 16:40

Hello,

I have this pc for a while now and more, and more the need to a lighter os become more pertinent. I found a very positive feedback about haiku on a site and decided it was the time to change.

Yesterday I clean the pc, installed haiku and two problems appeard:
- The wifi connection only finds one network, that isn't mine. It's a 802.11n WPA, mine it's a 802.11g WPA. The other pcs find even more networks, but not haiku.

- The screen it's oddly divided, I have something like this

                   L
--------------------------
| | |
| | |
| | |
| B | A |
| | |
| | |
| | |
--------------------------

The cursor moves from A to B. The line L should be in the left side of the screen... How can I move it?

Can somebody help me? (I hope my english it's good enough, for you to understand)

Thanks

Issues with pkgconfig while trying to compile

Forum thread started by sparklewind on Wed, 2012-12-19 17:52

I'm trying, with some help, to compile libretro/RetroArch for Haiku, but I'm stuck with a pkgconfig error. There seems to be no way to make it find pkgconfig. Could anyone take a look at this?

~/libretro/libretro-super/RetroArch> ./configure
Checking operating system ... Win32

Checking for suitable working C++ compiler ... /boot/develop/tools/gnupro/bin/g++

Checking for availability of switch -Wno-unused-result in /boot/develop/tools/gnupro/bin/gcc ... yes
Checking function bcm_host_init in -lbcm_host ... no
pkg-config not found. Exiting ...

I was following the Linux instructions here: https://github.com/Themaister/RetroArch/wiki/Compilation-guide-%28Linux%29

There's also a thread here concerning porting to Haiku: http://forum.themaister.net/viewtopic.php?pid=1052

Thanks.
