Froze up while installing

I know this has been discussed a several times but apparently no one yet had a problem when the installation (from DVD) got all frozen up at the "Chip" (Loading CPU specific module). I was willing to set up Haiku on an old Acer laptop - Acer Aspire 3000. The CPU is (from BIOS) "Mobile AMD Semprom(tm) Processor 3000+" and its speed is 1800 MHz. I dont have any OS installed, HDD ir formatted. I did format the HDD with GParted Live which is meant for Linux architecture, I suppose. Might this bring any problems? Formatted HDD as ntfs.

Earlier I tried to instal Haiku with bootable flash drive but then I realized that the old laptop of mine doesnt support booting from USB port. So I burned a DVD with the *.iso .. Any suggestions. Preferably in an easy language so I can understand, not that much of a pro in these things, just learning. :)

Hello. I'm not sure if anyone experienced this, but Qupzilla appears to works very fast just after a Haiku update. However, as days passes, I feel the browser is get more slow.

I tried disabling and cleaning the browser cache, but not appears to be the cause.

It can be, or I'm getting mad ? :-)

I just ran "pkgman update" and rebooted. Now Webpostive crashes at startup every time. Suggestion?? HELP!! MAYDAY!!!!!

Email setup problems

Hi,

I am trying to set up my IMAP email account on Haiku but am having two problems:

1) Sending of emails doesn't work for me. The emails are put into home/mail/out but are not sent, even after Shift+rightclick on the Mail tray icon and selecting the send command.

2) While the emails in my inbox are correctly loaded into mail/in, the emails in the IMAP subfolders are not. Subscribing to the subfolders seems to work but the folders remain re empty.

Does someone know what I might be doing wrong here? Is there a way to see what the mail server is actually doing in the background?

I am trying to setup a Trac account but it won't let me. Keeps telling me I'm spam. I am NOT SPAM. I get no options it just keeps telling me that I can't create an account.

I am logging into facebook and using the "keep me logged in" option. But that doesn't seem to be working. Is that expected right now?
