Problem with SDL games.

Forum thread started by xenu on Thu, 2011-08-25 20:47

Hi!

I have problem with running SDL games written for BeOS (i.e. kobodeluxe, wolf3d or rocks'n'diamonds). They work only if are executed from terminal, otherwise they're instantly exiting. There is workaround for this problem - writing shell script which executes game from it's directory, for example:

cd /boot/apps/Wolf3d
sdlwolf3d

But is it possible to run these games without ugly terminal window?

Thanks in advance

To add software to LiveUSB

Forum thread started by enzo on Thu, 2011-08-25 13:23

Hi,

I installed on a 2GB pendrive a LiveUSB verision of HAiKU. As I understand HAIKU can access only 690 MB
space on the pendrive - it is the size of an image. Now I want to HAIKU can use the free 1300 MB space.
How can I do this? Or maybe it is possible resize the partition HAIKU uses?

How to install Gnash plugin in BeZilla?

Forum thread started by darkhog on Sun, 2011-08-21 22:35

I've downloaded both Gnash and Bezilla (gnash was installed AFTER bezilla if its matters) and can't figure how to install plugin. I've copied gcc4 version of it to /boot/apps/bezillabrowser/add-ons but after that it still don't work - All I see in youtube where movie is supposed to be is "swf content" and Kongregate is trying to tell me that I have no flash.

install-wifi-firmware.sh for ipw2100 caused page fault

Forum thread started by enzo on Sun, 2011-08-14 20:41

Hi,
I started to use Haiku in just a moment (yesterday) - and I like it. I am using Haiku from anyboot image installation - it is installed on USB stick. I read Welcome and Uer Guide documents. There I found that Haiku is shipped with a firmware driver for ipw2100 wifi card, and installation is nice and easy: just in a terminal issue the command

# install-wifi-firmware.sh

So I did and in the same moment appeared the kernel debbuger screen with an information "page fault". I never seen before such thing like Haiku kernel debugger. The only command (luckily) I recognized was "reboot". So I rebooted and tried again the same routine and again I get "page fault" error.

It will be nice if you will help me to install the ipw2100 driver. Of course I can do some debugging - but I have no idea where to begin - there are so many options in the Haiku kernel debugger....

Install to HD

Forum thread started by DFergATL on Sun, 2011-08-14 02:30

I have a laptop that I am using for Haiku. Previously I have installed it to the HD. But, in order to get it to boot I have to initalize the Raw Device as Haiku. If I try to initalize with "Intel Partition Map" then create/initalzie a partition and install. Everything looks fine in Hard Drive Setup but it fails to boot. All I get is a blinking cursor on the top left.

Because of this I have simply done the initalzie the entire raw drive as haiku. But I want to do it the right way. I must be an idiot, I used to install BeOS without any issues. I must be doing something wrong in drive setup.

I want to use the entire drive, no need to worry about multipul partitions.

So, can somone point me to the directions for installing to HD. I have followed the ones I have seen online but still can't get it to install like it is supposed to.
