No keyboard or mouse in setup

Forum thread started by jorisros on Sat, 2011-03-26 16:10

I have the following problem:
Ik create a bootable disk with the iso file on it (r1alpha2). It boots perfect then i come in the window where you have a coice of install or live cd. But there i dont have a mouse or keyboard at all. I see the three lights of mine keyboard flickering but i dont get any response at all. The same with my mouse.
I have a ps2 keyboard and mouse. I tried a USB mouse but there also no response. I have a ASUS A8N-E motherboard with a AMD athlon processor.

Thanks in advance.

Missing Codecs

Forum thread started by Snuhwolf on Wed, 2011-03-23 22:11

Since MediaPlayer wouldnt play MP3's, I tried an experiment. I booted back into BeOS MAX and tried playing the same MP3 and it worked with out error. When I try to play it under Haiku it gives an error message about "missing codecs". If theres a codec pack somewhere that needs to be installed a pointer to it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello

Tried to install from ISO within Proxmox VE 1.7:
a.) Image boots alright
b.) no mouse available --> using keyboard instead
c.) @drive-setup screen the keyboard fails, too (TAB ESC etc. won't work)

If anyone stumbles across a solution for this, please let me know.

Many thanx.

Asus EEEPC 101 after boot sequenz the screen stays blank

Forum thread started by Skuld on Sat, 2011-03-19 19:32

Hi@all,

i hope someone can help me by my little Problem. I've made a bootable SD Card whit the "latest" nightly build of Haiku. The PC is a Asus EEEPC 101. The boot screen runs all icons and swap to the normal working screen, but the screen stays black.
Had also tested to use the failsafe modes (vesa accept...) but no success.

I had tried the regular Alpha version. This version works normal. Booting and working screen, all is wonderful. Except of the not working Ethernet...That was the reason to test the nightly builds.

Hope someone can help or at last give me a hind whats the Problem, why the newer versions will not work on my EEEPC.

Vodafone UK Huawei E272 Dongle Modem & Haiku How to?

Forum thread started by tcvarlh on Mon, 2011-03-14 16:31

I use a Vodafone UK E272 (Huawei) dongle modem that I swap from Win 7 on PC to Mac OS 10.3.9 on my G3. (Old but beautiful)

I'd like it to work with Haiku, therefore I wondered if anyone knew how to get the thing up and running.

Not being a Whiz with PC's I need help here.

Thanks in anticipation.

Wireless Help

Forum thread started by Ryan__ on Sat, 2011-03-12 03:08

I am trying to get my Intel 3945 wireless card to work but am unable to get any connection. I have been to http://www.haiku-os.org/guides/daily-tasks/wireless and the ifconfig commands just return a somewhat confusing message on the usage of ifconfig. I was hoping someone could help me out I am new to this operating system. I have tried getting some drivers from HaikuWare for my ethernet and hopefully I can gain internet access that way for the time being. Thanks
