HVIF with PNG etc.

Is it possible to export icons from png to HVIF. Unfortunately, neither the Icon-0-matic can not import anything (gif, bmp etc..)- he can't even open and load them to the program - and Wonderbrush can not export other formats to HVIF.

can Haiku boot from a external USB CD drive? Might get a small footprint i86 computer that has no internal CD but does have USB ports and wondered if I could boot from live Haiku CD to install it? Tj

No network in Virtualbox for Mac

I have a MacMini, and under Virtualbox, was unable to get any network going for a Haiku VM.
After some messing around, I found it is possible to choose an Intel virtual NIC instead of the default PCnet NIC.
This time it worked, as you can see.

The moral: Default NIC will not get recognized.
Change your VM settings to an Intel NIC :)

Media Player playing music too fast

Just downloaded Haiku (Great work!), and when I try to play MP3's with the Media Player, they're playing almost (if not) 2 times too fast. Is there a setting to get that to slow down a bit? I've installed this on an old Dell 4300s Desktop PC.

Can't believe how well it works on it!!!

Wireless conection with static IP and WEP

Hello! I'm trying to configure my Wireless conection. I have an Intel 5100 wireless card (it's detected and uses the Intel 4965 driver). How can I configure it with a static IP and with WEP?

Boot screen (and process) freezes on ASPIRE and VAIO

Greetings:

I have HAIKU R1 ALPHA 2 on a USB.

However, it fails to boot on both my ACER Aspire and SONY Vaio.

The boot screen comes up...the first three icons eventually highlight. Then the process freezes. Nothing further occurs. I need to force a shutdown...at which point the PANIC screen comes up stating that it is unable to find a boot partition.

I searched the bug report database. Seems there are lots of issues with these two brands of computers dealing with Wi-Fi. But it also see,s they all booted from CD....not USB.

Any advice appreciated
