hi
i don't know what i'm doing wrong, but when i try to configure the haiku source following this guide http://www.haiku-os.org/guides/building/gcc-hybrid, i get this:

Welcome to the Haiku shell.

~> cd haiku/haiku/generated.x86gcc4
~/haiku/haiku/generated.x86gcc4> ../configure --alternative-gcc-output-dir ../generated.x86gcc2 --cross-tools-prefix /boot/develop/abi/x86/gcc4/tools/current/bin/
../configure: line 382: cd: ../generated.x86gcc2: No such file or directory
~/haiku/haiku/generated.x86gcc4> cd ..
~/haiku/haiku> cd haiku/haiku/generated.x86gcc2hybrid
bash: cd: haiku/haiku/generated.x86gcc2hybrid: No such file or directory
~/haiku/haiku> ../configure --alternative-gcc-output-dir ../generated.x86gcc4 --cross-tools-prefix /boot/develop/abi/x86/gcc2/tools/current/bin/
bash: ../configure: No such file or directory
~/haiku/haiku> cd ..

although the folders exist and are correct i keep getting this msg.
is there a bug in the latest nightlies? any help would be apreciated.
i'm using the rev:38837 gcc4hybrid.

USB mouse not working & Atheros Wireless LAN driver

Forum thread started by jengajam2 on Sun, 2010-10-03 20:09

I have two questions:

1. On my Desktop, an HP a1640n, everything works flawless with the exception of my USB mice. I have two, a Logitech Wireless M215 and a Logitech Wired B100. The Logitech M215 does only works on Windows and Mac OS X (Hackintosh), and does not work on FreeBSD or Linux with Xorg enabled. The B100, however, works on all operating systems, with the exception of Haiku Aplha R2. The B100 works on Haiku Alpha R2 on my laptop, though. Reading previous topics, I have disabled Legacy USB Support, upgraded my BIOS on my ASUS Buckeye Motherboard to the most current version that HP has released which was created by Phoenix Technologies, and have tried enabling and disabling every option in my BIOS configuration setup, such as Plug and Play OS, default video output, etc. to no effect. The PS2 keyboard I have and extremely low quality PS2 mouse I own do work.

2.On my Laptop, a Gateway M7315u, everything works with the exception of the Wireless LAN driver. The card is identified as an Atheros ar928x, which works on Linux (ath9k), FreeBSD 8 (Have not tried 8.1), Windows, and Mac OS X. It is detected as a device and shows up in network interfaces, but when I use setwep to connect to a wireless network, nothing happens. No errors or any output on the command line, it just appears to complete. I have tested and have not been able to ping google.com.

Any possible solutions? I would me much obliged.

Gmail in Haiku?

Forum thread started by paulfxh on Thu, 2010-09-30 22:12

I've used Gmail for many years and never had any problems with it on any of the platforms I've tried.
However, Gmail in Haiku R1A2 is proving just a little troublesome.
Whereas I can RECEIVE emails in Gmail in WebPositive, when I try to SEND an email from WebPositive I get an error message stating that "Your action was unsuccessful. Please try again".
But, I've tried over about two days with always the same result.
OTOH, I can use the Haiku email client to SEND my Gmails without any problem.
But, this client doesn't seem to RECEIVE emails even though I've set up the server for incoming mail.
Has anybody had any better success with Gmail in Haiku?
