Mounting/automounting Ext3 partition

Forum thread started by RBerenguel on Tue, 2010-06-15 22:52

I have a question... very newbie. I am trying Haiku from a USB stick, and although (from what I've read here and there) it should be mounting my hard disk (which is Ext3) automatically, or at least show it in the "mount" or "mount all", Haiku does not show anything.

Any hints on what is happening, or a way to mount them?

Thanks for any hints!

Help configuring Mail for IMAP

Forum thread started by wove on Mon, 2010-06-14 01:13

I installed Haiku on a Panasonic CF-29 a couple days ago. It is working very nicely with a few bumps I am working through. This WebPositive is just great and the addition of working wifi with a fairly straight forward setup makes for a very nice system.

I was always very fond of eMail handling in Be and was delighted to find the same eMail application I had used. The last I had used it was probably 3-4 years ago and at that point all my accounts were pop accounts. Currently they are all IMAP accounts and I am confused about setting up folders in Mail. I have not been able to locate any documentation covering this and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Thank you

Can't get wireless to work, help!

Forum thread started by aleccj1 on Sun, 2010-06-13 18:44

Hello,
I recently installed Haiku R1 A2 on my IBM Thinkpad T30 laptop. When I try to get wireless internet working by running install-wifi-firmwares.sh, the entire system freezes and nothing gets installed. I tried this multiple times, including the offline ways you can try. How can I get wireless to work? If I can't get it to work, then I'll probably have to install a different OS, as wireless is very important to me.

MIDI playback?

Forum thread started by AndrewZ on Sun, 2010-06-13 18:40

Does anyone have MIDI playback working? One idea is that Haiku is missing midi sound fonts, which must be installed:

Has anyone tried installing sound fonts and then playing a midi file in MidiPlayer?

Thanks,
Andrew

Which driver do I use for IXP Sx High SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller

Forum thread started by haikuhacker on Sat, 2010-06-12 17:13

I recently installed Alpha 2 and found no devices listed in Media Preferences. I noticed a new version of OSS on the Haikuware site and after installing it my media preferences shows ATI HD Audio. I still do not have any sound. The mixer settings in Media Preferences look right. Do I need to do anything to use the correct driver?

Boot loader

Forum thread started by haikuhacker on Wed, 2010-06-09 18:10

Is there a file I can edit to set the default action to "Continue booting" when Haiku offers the options to "Reboot", "Continue booting" etc so that the boot process can move on after a few seconds?
