Spaminator

Forum thread started by darthom on Thu, 2007-04-05 05:24

The Spaminator...

I am tired of SPAM and want an absolute way to control it. Rules work on specifics. Microsoft is lame because it requires you to select the Junk Mail option in order to manually assign items as Junk Mail. It then applies its own internal Junk Mail guestimator, over which the user has no control except to turn off the Junk Mail option.

I have recommended the Spaminator to Microsoft and they have turned a blind eye. With the advent of Haiku, there is potential to set a new standard in email services.

I am currently an MS Windows / Outlook user so the suggestion follows on that.

Apps - KMyMoney

Forum thread started by darthom on Thu, 2007-04-05 05:00

An app that can make Haiku a little application richer on the end-user front is called KMyMoney. It is a C++ app and the source is available on SourceForge.Net. It comes with a GPL license and relies on the KDE interface.

This app is a Quicken / Money type program with QIF support included. The screen shots look quite impressive. I would love to see this as part of a HomeSuite, like Word/Excel/Access/Publisher/Powerpoint are an OfficeSuite.

It is very fun and original 'windows'(welcome to build...,Snv update ...,) which are on the site of haiku factory. It must be in the system of Haiku !! Else other thing, the name of haiku or the name of the distribution of haiku should have the name BEOS too !! Like, it is a 'restart' of the building an new os based on BEOS. Of course, if it is possible to use the name Beos.

[quote="Is That Just Some Game? No, It’s a Cultural Artifact"]Mr. Lowood and the four members of his committee — the game designers Warren Spector and Steve Meretzky; Matteo Bittanti, an academic researcher; and Christopher Grant, a game journalist — announced their list of the 10 most important video games of all time:

1. Spacewar! (1962)
2. Star Raiders (1979)
3. Zork (1980)
4. Tetris (1985)
5. SimCity (1989)

The font in the "About..." box on the main page

Any chance the font used for the About box (http://haiku-os.org/themes/shijin/images/front_page/intro-box.png) can be changed to match the Downloads image (http://haiku-os.org/themes/shijin/images/block_download.jpg)? Just looks sort of rough how it currently is, IMHO - especially when you consider how great the rest of the site looks!

Has anyone thought about a native calendar app for Haiku? Perhaps something like Mozilla Sunbird.
